How You Can Use your Tax Refund to Invest in your Smile

As you’re reading this, Tax Day is right around the corner! While it’s some people’s most dreaded day of the year, it’s soon followed by one of the best: the day you get your tax refund!

If you’re wondering how best to spend it, you might consider investing it in something that makes a difference in every part of your day-to-day life: your smile! Dentistry has plenty of ways to make use of your tax refund; here are just a few examples.

Preventive Care

It’s sometimes said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and that’s certainly the case when it comes to dentistry. By getting biannual checkups and cleanings, you give your dentist the opportunity to check on the condition of your smile, and to catch any oral health problems you may have before they become serious.

If you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, or if you don’t have insurance that covers preventive dental care, your tax refund can be an excuse to start a habit of getting regular checkups.

Restorative Care

If you have a toothache you’ve been ignoring, or something you’ve decided to pretend isn’t a cavity, getting your tax refund is an opportunity to get it looked at by a professional.

Most of the procedures your dentist will use to address these issues are completely pain free, including some of the ones with bad reputations, like root canals. If you’re uncomfortable, the absolute best thing that you can do is to have a professional help you.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Maybe you have a chipped tooth, a gray tooth, gapped teeth, or some combination of all of them. With cosmetic dentistry, your dentist can make these issues disappear! Many of the most powerful cosmetic treatments, like teeth whitening and direct bonding, can even be completed in as little as one appointment.

While cosmetic dentistry can be on the pricier side, your dentist will be happy to talk with you about your budget and what they think that they can achieve. And, depending on the size of it, your tax refund should be just enough to get you started!
